Join us for ArtRageous: Chromatic Bloom, Art Works Downtown’s annual celebration, where art and music collide in a kaleidoscope of color and creativity. The AWD art center will be transformed into a vibrant, multisensory playground, brimming with interactive installations, unexpected delights, and inspired energy.
Dance under the stars to the psychedelic electro-funk grooves of The Crooked Stuff in our hidden back patio oasis. Sip summer-inspired libations, savor culinary treats, and explore the creative heart of our community with over 20 artist studios open for the evening.

Get ready to journey to ancient England by immersing yourself in the radiant multimedia installation The Solstice Stonehenge Experience by AWD's studio artist and fine art photographer, multimedia, and digital artist, Cindy Pavlinac.
Cindy is combining art, light, and the enduring mystery of time in the immersive multimedia installation, The Solstice Stonehenge Experience, where you will step into a sanctuary of stillness and wonder.
The Solstice Stonehenge Experience will transport you to the heart of one of the world’s most mysterious sacred sites through Cindy's luminous lens.
For more than four decades, Cindy has followed the call of ancient alignments, capturing sacred landscapes across the shifting seasons. Her meditative images trace layers of light, texture, and time, inviting deep reflection and evoking the magic of place.
This contemplative experience features hundreds of slowly dissolving images set to an ambient soundscape by her longtime collaborator, composer Martin Gregory. With layered harmonies and Celtic motifs, his music brings the spirit of transcendent landscapes to life.
Together, their work invites you to pause, recharge, and reconnect with the primal rhythms of earth and sky. Everyone is invited to this softly lit lounge at ArtRageous, where one will find a space to reflect and be still at the turning point of the year—the Summer Solstice.

We are proud to honor Joy Phoenix and the Fenwick Foundation for their unwavering commitment to supporting emerging artists through the AWD Max Thelen Studio. Over a decade ago, Joy and the foundation launched this vital program, providing free studio space to artists — a rare and invaluable resource. Their consistent funding and dedication reflect a deep understanding of the importance of creative space in fostering artistic expression, innovation, and community. Thanks to their generosity, more than 15 artists have been able to explore, create, and thrive, leaving an indelible mark on our cultural landscape.

Our arts community extends beyond San Rafael, and in honoring Oshalla, we recognize the vital role she has played in the transformative relocation of the Marin City Arts Gallery. Her work not only ensures the gallery’s future but also broadens its impact across the region. Manager of Economic Development, City of San Rafael
Stacey’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming San Rafael into a cultural arts hub. Since 2018, AWD and the City have partnered to secure a significant state grant, officially designating San Rafael as one of only 14 California Cultural Arts Districts. This achievement has catalyzed meaningful progress in building public support for the arts locally.
Perhaps most notably, Stacey has led volunteer stakeholder coalitions that bring thousands of people to San Rafael in support of cultural arts programming and local artists. Her dedication continues to strengthen and energize the region’s creative ecosystem, making San Rafael a thriving center for arts and culture.
