Studio 20: Janelle Schneider

My original paintings and prints are influenced by symbolism, dreams, science, psyche, and mythologies as a part of the Great Mystery. I'm interested in the spaces where these things overlap, and the inner and outer worlds come together. I'm interested in exploring the interconnectedness of all things.

As a fine artist I've worked for over 15 years with oils, now predominantly in acrylics. My work ranges from acrylic on canvas, encaustics, to various combinations of mixed media & digital collage pieces. I love working in many translucent layers of paint, and integrating different mediums in such a way that it becomes difficult to discern 'how' the imagery was created. It's important to me that the imagery I create finds emotional resonance with the viewer.
