Odalisque Café

~ opening soon at 1335 Fourth St ~

Odalisque-Cafe-AWD-Web2

The new gathering place at Art Works Downtown featuring the flavors of France and North Africa.

Restaurant designer and AWD artist, Jay Yinger, is the architect of new café housed in our historic building, which was once the opera house of San Rafael. Joined by Lisa Long, also an AWD artist, and brothers Brad and Dwight Bandak, the team will open their doors this fall.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tuesday - Saturday, the food will feature local ingredients with a French/North African culinary point of view. The café muse is depicted in a famous painting: "La Grande Odalisque" by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. She strikes a pose that embodies the spirit of the venue – both content and amused, coy and self-assured, painted by a French artist imagining life in the Ottoman Empire.

The feel will be friendly and relaxed, with food prepared with products from local farmers and ranchers committed to producing ethically grown and raised products. Craft beers, beer on draft and in bottles will be cafefully selected to accompany the lunch and dinner menus. The wine list will represent west coast vineyards alongside favorite European vintages.

Please see the Odalisque Café website for more information and to sign up to be notified of the opening date.
