Laura Xu has always been fascinated by the art of painting. As a young child growing up in China, she watched her father paint traditional Chinese scenes. He painted with brushes, knives, and his own fingers and nails, using a variety of media. He was completely untutored, but his passion and persistence were enough to fill Laura's small house with paintings and sketches.
Now, living in the United States with her family, Laura has acquried the same passion. Using a loose style, she strives to capture the beauty of nature and scenes of everyday life, working mostly in oils on canvas or canvas board. Laura's art education includes classes she took in art college and workshops she have taken – and continue to take - with master painters.
