Wendy Lilienthal: Fiber, Handmade Papers, Collage
My handmade and imported papers and textiles combine elements of sculpture and painting,
reflecting various cultures. They are often from Thailand, Mexico, Canada and Japan. They transcend contemporary forms by combining layered networks of high relief, color, and collage. The papers reveal a multiplicity of surface and texture.
I draw inspiration from extensive travels and exposure to far eastern and tribal cultures. The papers lend a sense of antiquity and lost pre-industrial craft that makes the artwork rich and timeless in their presence. They are sometimes cast and embossed. Visit Wendy's studio page here >
Barbara Andino-Stevenson:
Ceramic Dreamscape
Barbara shares her unique sculpure work that is a world in it's own right, with mountains, succulents and flowing water through out the piece. Not to be missed! To view more images of this work at the Dominican Library exhibit in Aug 2012, visit here >
