Cindy A. Pavlinac is a fine art photographer specializing in the power of place, from ancient sanctuaries to modern expressions of the sacred on location throughout North America and Europe. An exhibiting artist and multimedia presenter since 1974, her images have won numerous awards and appeared in over 800 publications, including as Principal Photography for the books Labyrinths and Sanctuaries of the Goddess, and in Time Magazine’s Pictures of the Year. A certified Labyrinth Facilitator and Institute for Movement Psychology Instructor, she creates site specific interactive installations, projecting hundreds of images onto hanging silk veils. She is also a published author and plays viola and Celtic fiddle. She photographs artwork for artists and advises on professional presentation and publication.
Her Master’s Degree in Arts and Consciousness Studies focused on healing arts and dance in ancient cultures, and her B.A. is in photography, minoring in astrophysics, with study in Athens in archeology. She can be found somewhere near a sacred site, on a road trip with her magical canine companion Merlin, or in her studio photographing, preparing an exhibit, hosting interns, or tutoring individuals in creative photography.
I am an artist on a mission, a seeker tracking alignments back to source, traveling towards expressions of the extraordinary. As a photographer, I lure images out of wisps of time, enticing phantoms to reveal the beauty and power and presence of place. As a writer, I scout terrain, survey landscapes, and return with tales to map further journeys of pilgrimage, ancient and modern, imaginative and real.
I strive to bridge the ancient with the modern and to inspire people through images, words, music, and performance towards a hope filled future and creative present.
